About Me
Do you think the zoo is fun? Well, my last name is Zhu, and I'm fun like the Zoo!
Now, here's your daily snippet of cheesiness. You're welcome :)
19 years ago, on Valentine's day, I was born in the lovely city of West Covina. What followed was a life of moving between the metropolitan Shanghai and the suburbia of LA. Went to elementary school in Shanghai, came back for middle school and half of high school, and then I went back to Shanghai to finish high school. Growing up between two entirely different worlds has greatly shaped who I am. I love the city that is Shanghai, but I also love seeking the safe haven that is the suburbs. This has also shaped my future aspirations.
I am currently living the dream of being a Public Relations major at the greatest SChool on earth--University of Southern California. My dream is to work at a PR agency in the city that never sleeps--New York City. People have asked me what my dream job would be if money weren't a factor, I'd give them the same answer. New York is a city of opportunities and it reminds me so much of Shanghai. Plus, it always have been a major fashion capital!
Why fashion? I've loved fashion ever since I was a little girl. The turning point would definitely have to be when I made a "evening gown" out of a plastic Saks garment bag when I was 6 or 7. I was shopping with my aunt when I came across this gorgeous evening gown. Of course, being the 6 year old that I was, factors like price of fitting never came across my mind, and I begged my aunt to get it for me. But it's no surprise that she said no. I didn't even know how I cam up with it, but I just went home, took a pair of scissors, went straight towards my aunt's closet (it's not what you think!), grabbed a garment bag, and started cutting! There were ribbons, tape, markers...and I somehow ended up with a garment bag that was wearable! Children do the craziest things. Now, I really wish I can have a picture to help me remember, but I guess I still have the memory!
Then, in the summer I came across the opportunity to work with Lion Step Media to work on this blog and I had to try it out! The 6 year old me wouldn't have forgive me if I didn't! And I'm SO glad I was blessed with this opportunity to express my love for fashion. Plus, it's a challenge for me to always keep up with the ever-changing world of fashion.
to be continued...
